A Total Of 4,867 Special Needs Pupils In Tanzania Set To Take Primary Education Final Exams 

At least 4,867 candidates with special needs in Tanzania are expected to seat for their primary school fina examination, scheduled to commence from September 9 and 10, 2026.

The patriotic development reflects the good strategy by the Government of Tanzania on exercising inclusive education in the country’s academic rolling out scheme.

The Secretary of the Tanzania Examination Council (NECTA), Prof.  Said Mohamed, revealed the development this afternoon, September 8,2026, when giving a press briefing to reporters in Tanzania’s business capital of Dar es Salaam.

The Don detailed that, among the candidates, 82 are blind, 1,551 have low vision, 999 are deaf, 576 have mental disabilities and others 1,659 are suffering from divese physical disabilities.

He added, a total of 1,168,649 have been registered for the crucial examination across the country.

According to him, among them, 531,467 are boys, equal to 45 percent, while girls are 637,182, equal to 54 percent.

“I am directing the Regional and Council Examination Committees to ensure that protection and security are strengthened in all examination centers,” he directed.

He also urged the citizens in the country to cooperate with the authorities by providing information when they identify acts of examination fraud, in order to protect the integrity of the process.
