
Livestock Ministry Incepts Tanzania’s Maiden Digital-based Pastoralist And Fisheries Service Centre
AN equipped, cloud- connected Customer Service Centre (CSC) has been launched to assist local livestock farmers and fishers to access professional solutions to the diverse challenges they are likely to encounter in ther daily executions.
Managed by the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, the maiden such facility in Tanzania will be dedicated to ensuring the timely provision of technical guidance information to help improve productivity in the livestock and fisheries sector, on which many livelihoods depend.

Speaking shortly after gracing the launch of the centre in Dodoma Capital City, the Minister of President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance), Mr Ridhiwani Kikwete, urged the parent ministry to ensure the facility operates in line with its intended objectives.
He described the establishment of the centre as a vital milestone attained by the livestock ministry, saying it will open a new progressive chapter for the sector’s professional growth.
“Initiating this centre is good and commendable step, but you are now faced with the greater and more important task of ensuring that the centre delivers its daily services in line with public expectations,” he said.
To achieve this, he noted that staff who operating the centre must provide prompt feedback and responses to questions and inquires submitted by prospective users of the center.
“Citizens always need the right information at right time, so make sure this facility embraces speed and standard as its operating motto,” he urged.
The minister also urged the livestock ministry to ensure that the centre provides services in home language to avoid excluding any of its targeted beneficiaries.
“I feel very proud, and I sincerely congratulate the Minister of Livestock for working closely with his executives to establish this centre, the laudable development that will continue transforming the sector,” he appreciated.
For her part, Deputy Livestock Minister, Ms Ng’wasi Kamani said the ministry was well prepared to ensure that the centre delivers the best posible outcomes.

“The centre has been designed in a modern yet user -friendly manner to deliver quality services to its customers, including timely picking and response to calls, as well as the provision of helpful information to its users,” she assured.
The launch of the facility comes only few days after the livestock ministry inaugurated another vital sector initiative, “the National Poultry Development Strategy”, highlighting concerted efforts to Tanzania’s livestock sector.
