20 Countries To Convene In Dar es Salaam For Sustainable Education Financing Dialogue At IQEC 2026
The Sixth International Quality Education Conference (IQEC 2026) is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 13 this year at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, attracting representatives from 20 countries.
One of the key objectives of the gathering is to explore strategies to help Tanzania and other African countries establish sustainable and robust education financing systems.
The important conference will provide participants with an opportunity to discuss ways of improving the quality of education through domestic resource mobilisation, sustainable financing and partnerships between governments and the private sector.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam today, Tanzania Education Network (TEN/MET) National Coordinator, Ms Martha Makala, said the conference would provide an opportunity for education stakeholders from Tanzania, Africa and other parts of the world to exchange experiences, discuss research findings and explore best practices that could be adopted to improve the sector.
She said the main discussions would focus on how African countries could strengthen their capacity to finance education priorities using domestic resources rather than relying heavily on external funding, which can be affected by changing global circumstances and international priorities.
Makala named some of the countries expected to participate as the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Brazil, India, Australia, Syria, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi, Botswana and Nigeria, among others.
According to Makala, participants will include policymakers, government leaders and institutions, development partners, civil society organisations, education experts and researchers, universities, teachers, students, young people and representatives of the private sector.
