President Mwinyi Roots For Stronger Judicial Cooperation To Strengthen Justice Delivery

President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has said that regional judicial cooperation is vital in strengthening justice delivery systems, sharing experiences and ensuring that courts keep pace with technological developments and the evolving needs of citizens.

President Mwinyi made the remarks on October 5, 2026, while officially gracing the meeting of the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices Forum (SEACJF), held at Verde Hotel in Zanzibar.

He observed that courts should embrace innovation and technology in order to improve the delivery of justice services while safeguarding the principles of fairness, equality and due legal process.

He spoke about the importance of financial independence for the judiciary, noting that access to adequate and predictable resources is fundamental to enabling courts to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

During the meeting, President Mwinyi launched three key documents of the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices Forum (SEACJF).

The meeting brought together Chief Justices and senior judicial officials from 15 African countries to discuss innovation, efficiency and reforms in the administration of courts and the delivery of justice.
