Tanzania’s ecotourism sector is inching towards an impressive era following an influx of stakeholders who have expressed their commitment to supporting the country in promoting its prestigious local attractions on the global tourism platform.
At the ongoing National Tourism Week exhibition, which is taking place in Tanzania’s business capital, Dar es Salaam, the Co- Founder of the Guardians of Peak (GOP) project, under RAM Film Production, Ms Elizabeth Mrembo, expressed readiness to partner with the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) to further promote local ecotourism attractions.
Ms Mrembo made the pledge when she visited the TFS pavilion at the crowd-pulling exhibition organised at Dar es Salaam’s famous Kijiji cha Makumbusho.
She noted that her company was working closely with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in several aspects, adding that it would continue taking positive steps to promote the country’s prestigious ecological sites in both local and international tourism markets.
“Our company cooperates very closely with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, and I promise to continue cooperating in promoting ecotourism attractions outside Tanzania,” said Mrembo.
Apart from promoting tourism attractions, Mrembo said GOP would continue to cooperate with TFS in mobilising communities on tree planting and environmental conservation, explaining that the initiative is important in strengthening conservation and stimulating the growth of the tourism sector.
She said the project also has a tree-planting campaign, under which they expect to visit Siha District in the Kilimanjaro Region on October 7, 2026, for the exercise in collaboration with conservationists in the area.
“Along with promoting tourism, we also have a tree-planting campaign. On October 7, we will go to Siha District, and we have already talked to the Siha conservationists about planting trees,” she said.
TFS is participating in the exhibition by providing education on forest conservation, ecotourism attractions and investment opportunities in the sector.
